Entomophagy is the practice of eating insects. We’re not talking about the odd spider you might swallow in your sleep. Around 2 billion people in the world actively eat insects which amounts to about 25 per cent of the population.
You might think of eating insects as something that only happens in Asian countries such as Thailand. However, Western countries such the Netherlands and the United States are catching on to the food craze.
